Yep, I did this!

I did this in one day and sold it the same day for $50!  A friend gave it to me for free because he was moving and didn't want to take it.  Love love love how it turned out.  I almost kept it for myself! :)
Before refinishing.....  a bit ugly!

Best Luncheon at Jesika's Wedding

At Jesika's wedding, I had the chance to meet someone that works for Mitt Romney.  I started asking him questions and my first question was, "Why do we give the Indians money?!  If they get money, I want my Mormon money for getting run off my land and my ancestors being killed!"   He laughed and said, "Of everything you could ask me, you want to know about the Indians!?!"  We laughed and had a good chat about everything and life and he said he would get me information.   Here is his response:

Sorry its taken so long to get back to you. I wanted to tie up loose ends on your question. As you know I cannot speak for the campaign.

There are issues the Gov should take up and things campaigns take on. You would never choose to bring up this issue on a campaign unless it was needed. With that said, it's an issue a gov. Administration could take on.

I think one of the problems we face with this issue is that there are so many other areas that have wasteful spending, in many ways you would want to clear those before you "attack" a group of people.

Anyway, I'm sure you didn't get much out of that. If you want me to expound or have more questions for me let me know.

P.S. I think better then cutting the Gov. Funding would be to do some type of forced allocation. Meaning the money can only go into or be tapped into if that money is focused on communities or education.

And now you know... the rest of the story... :)

So sick of being in bed!

So I went and bought a king bed.  Yep, I know, why do I need a new bed?  Well, simply because I bought my bed used.... gross I know but I was poor!!  Secondly, it was old old old and made noise every time I moved.  Third, because I knew I was going to have surgery and be confounded to my bed for a time.  I however, did not take into account that I would be in it for a week straight!  So after watching two tv series (Switched at Birth.... I LOVE that show, for some reason I feel like I connect to it because I'm a twin, but it has absolutely NOTHING to do with being a twin... strange I know!) and grading papers, I decided that I can't stay at home any longer and I need to do something.  I saw this on pinterest a long time ago and have wanted to make them since.  I kind of carefully drove to Walmart - I'm not supposed to be driving on my meds...- and bought some fabric and felt.  I went home and drew a pattern for me to use and started sewing from my new king bed!  Which I finally bought sheets for but still need to buy a frame and comforter!  Back to the best thing of the day!  I made FIVE of these cute little things and I'm going to make more tomorrow.  I messed up and had to redo one twice because I was on the phone with Sabrina and apparently I can't multitask!  But in my defense, I'm still on pain medication...  I so love these owl, they are fun to make and totally cute.  Here are the pictures.

My first one, lets call him Blacky!

My second one.... purple paisley wings and zebra body.... interesting. :)

Then the boy one in the middle!  Worms cover him, I was really wanting to make some chevron ones, but I couldn't find chevron fabric anywhere!!  I was sad sad sad but once I find it I'll be making more of these puppies!!  Owls, they are owls.

All FIVE of my cute little creations.

So update on my surgery for those that care.  I had four little incisions on my tummy, one in my belly button.  My doctor basically told me after that I have stage 4 edometriosis, and that means I have to be on birth control constantly.  It sucks bc I hate what that does to me but I'll have to learn to live with it.  I got cauterized and dnc'ed.  So I've been healing slowly to me but he said it was an extensive surgery and it could take 3 weeks.  I've been out of school for 2 weeks now and I hope to go back on Monday and be able to stay all day.  I better jet, I'm feeling pretty sickly right now but probably bc I need to sleep!! :)

Surgery and Snow

I want to explain most of the events through pictures.  I know today is a big posting day for me but it is because I am bed bound for the day.  I still need to do some grading and find a way to each lunch, but I'm loving catching up on this right now!

My super awesome Mom and I at the hospital in the waiting room.
I was scheduled for surgery March 19th to get a grapefruit sized cyst removed from my left ovary.  It was getting pretty painful and I couldn't handle it much longer so it was time to do something about it.  Plus, if I didn't get it removed, I risked the chance of it killing my left ovary and I would have to get it removed as well!  So eventually I was going to need surgery.  When we got to the hospital and finished checking in, they gave us this dinner light thing.  It lit up to let me know it was time to go back and prep for surgery, it lit up to tell my mom that I was out of surgery, and then it lit up one more time to tell my mom I was in recovery and she could come and see me.  I didn't even know that they were putting me under when they did so I didn't have the chance to fight the anesthesia.  My gown was amazing though because it came with a tube that blew hot air into my gown and my own temperature control!  I was two hours late into surgery and my surgery took 1 1/2 hours vs the 1 hour it was supposed to take.  I'm sure my mom was bored all day!

When all was said and done, I couldn't hardly stay awake for a day let alone all week!  I slept a ton and Desaray and my mom took care of me.  Teralee even had to be on nurse duty for a night!  Then I came back to Idaho and rested all day Saturday (missing my volleyball team play but I'm sure they were alright!).  I went with some friends to the Hunger Games yesterday and it was phenomenal!  Afterwards, I came home and decided to put some things away in the closet.  I must have pushed my limit because it was bad after that.  I thought I was feeling so much better but really the pain was excruciating!  My friend Jared called right at that time and told me if I didn't get in bed he would kick my butt.  So he came over and made me write him a grocery list and dinner request.  I laid in bed while I could hear him working away in the kitchen.  He made me a grilled cheese sandwich and the best tomato soup I've ever had.  I'm not even kidding!  Then he went and borrowed a computer from a friend that was compatible with my school files so I could write my lesson plans for the day.  I was pampered the whole evening.  It was so nice of him to give up his evening to make sure I was okay.  So after the tears of pain subsided, I was living in a lap of luxury.  I'm not even kidding about the amazingness of the tomato soup!  This is when the song should play, "Find Out Who Your Friends Are."  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jyafQe_2Do&ob=av2e

Basically I have the best family and friends ever.  I'm so grateful for all they do for me!
Travis and I enjoying the snow
Jared, Travis, and I....  the weather was great and we walked around quite a bit, resulting in my painful Monday with some torn stitches.  Booo......  Jared and Travis are twins and probably my favorite set of twins I know!

Christmas in Alaska

Aurora at the bowling family center.
Robert schemed and got me on board; he flew me up to Alaska for Christmas to surprise Sabrina.  Woa, she was certainly surprised!!  We had a blast just being twin together and playing around her little snow covered town.  We went bowling one day, which Aurora just loved.  We made new recipes that we hadn't had before.  I ate a lot of caribou meat, and seasoned it too much because I didn't understand Sabrina's instructions... hehe.  We visited the North Pole and stayed in a hotel in Fairbanks.  Robert bought ice cream when we went to a restaurant and I was shocked!  It was a hopping -50 outside the whole week I was there and he's eating ice cream!!  Aurora and I had a blast together, we all played wii Just Dance and had a fun Christmas morning.  Church was great, I got to see an old friend from Rexburg that moved to Sabrina's ward in Alaska.  I also had two long layovers in Anchorage and my friend Beth came and picked me up and we hung out at her house during my layover.  It was a blast!  I loved my trip and it was so good to have twin time.  I also got to see my best friend Shelly in Boise, because I flew out of there.  I am very grateful for my Christmas Alaska trip.

Wintery Alaska!
